How to Apply

Applications for the 2025 Alum Ambassador cohort open May 31, 2024, and close November 15, 2024. We encourage those interested to review the application process and apply today. Each year, Birthright Israel Foundation (BRIF) and its Board of Directors choose a select group of alum from the Birthright Israel, Onward Israel, and Excel programs to represent the Foundation. Alum Ambassadors are awarded a $1,500 stipend for their time, and all travel expenses are covered. Those chosen will have the opportunity to meet with the movers and shakers of the Jewish-Israel nonprofit world and help shape the future of Birthright Israel Foundation.

To be considered for an Alum Ambassador role, you must complete 2 steps: review our policies and fill out the application questions, which include submitting a 2–3-minute video about how your Israel experience impacted your life.

To receive the stipend, Alum Ambassadors must actively participate in various speaking engagements and digital media efforts and attend the Alum Ambassador gathering in New York City in late January/February 2025.

During this crucial time, the Alum Ambassadors play a key role in helping secure the necessary donations to make our programs possible. There is currently a waitlist for the classic 10-day trip, and every dollar counts! All alums are encouraged to donate to Birthright Israel Foundation. Whether it is $10 a month or a one-time gift that is meaningful to you, you are impacting the lives of your peers and making Birthright Israel a reality for all young Jews. Please note the program is open to US alums only.
