6 Ways to Learn Hebrew
You may be even more familiar with expressions like Sababa or Yofi after a trip to Israel, but there is so much more to learning Hebrew. Hebrew is one of the world's most ancient languages. The Jewish people have used the Hebrew language in dialect, praying, writing, and in correspondence with each other for as long as time can tell. However, as Jews were scattered all over the world due to conflict in their ancient homeland, new languages were created that integrated Hebrew with other local languages. These integrations created specific dialects such as Yiddish, Ladino, and Judeo-Arabic, for example. The use of Hebrew as an everyday language was revived in the 19th century.
