Dear Donor: This Trip Changed My Entire Outlook on Life
Dear Donor,
I went on this trip with some knowledge of what to expect from past Birthright Israel participants, but what I got out of it was so much more than I could have ever imagined. I went on this trip with eight of my friends from home, and we all agreed that it was an experience of a lifetime. From starting in the desert to exploring the old town of Tzfat, then transitioning into city life in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, our group was fully immersed in the different cultures and landscapes of Israel. Through each of the different excursions we completed every day, we learned about the history and significance of each place and how they have changed and adapted through the years. The feeling of unity and pride for this country was overwhelming and beautiful to witness, to say the least.
I also have to thank our eight Israeli soldiers, our tour guide Rachel and group leaders Danielle and Rebeka, our entire travel group, our medic Elad, and our bus driver Fuad for facilitating such an action-packed and special trip. This trip changed my entire outlook on life, and I am filled with such pride and hope for the country of Israel. As our tour guide, Rachel said right as we boarded the bus for the first time, “Israel is all of our homes."
If you still have the opportunity to go on Birthright Israel, do not miss it! I am forever grateful and appreciative of the memories I was able to create and the knowledge I gained while on this program!
Sincerely,
Charlotte Dorn
