On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Scarsdale Jewish community gathered at the home of Wendy and Scott Kleinman for Birthright Israel: 25 Years Bold. The evening began with cocktails and heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Host Committee, followed by opening remarks from Wendy Kleinman, who shared her family’s deep commitment to ensuring a vibrant Jewish future. Wendy reflected on Birthright Israel’s extraordinary 25-year impact: transforming more than 900,000 lives, strengthening Jewish identity, and inspiring young Jews worldwide to embrace leadership, resilience, and pride. She emphasized that in a time of rising antisemitism and challenges to Israel’s legitimacy, investing in Birthright Israel is both a privilege and a responsibility for the Jewish community in Scarsdale and beyond.

Guests were inspired to hear from Ashley Waxman Bakshi, a proud Birthright Israel alumna and leading pro-Israel voice, who shared her journey of turning one life-changing trip into a global platform of Jewish pride and connection. Elias Saratovsky, Birthright Israel Foundation’s President & CEO, joined Ashley for an engaging Q&A that highlighted the urgency and the promise of our mission. The evening closed with remarks from philanthropist and national Board Member Ruth Suzman, who called on supporters to invest boldly in the next generation, reminding us that one trip can change a life, and one gift can change the Jewish future.
