Job Description
Position Summary
The VP, Events is a leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Birthright Israel Foundation's event strategy to advance donor engagement and fundraising objectives. This individual will combine strategic vision, creative innovation, and operational precision to deliver exceptional experiences that inspire donors and strengthen their emotional connection to the Birthright Israel mission. The VP will oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, manage an internal team and external vendors, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure events serve as a cornerstone of the organization's integrated marketing and fundraising efforts.

BRIF is seeking a VP, Events to lead the strategy, design, and execution of high-impact events that deepen donor engagement and drive fundraising success.

Compensation
Salary Range: $160,000-$185,000

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Fundraising Integration
- Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy aligned with organizational fundraising goals and donor engagement priorities.
- Partner with Development leadership to ensure events are designed to maximize philanthropic outcomes and cultivate long-term donor relationships.
- Analyze event performance and ROI, leveraging data to refine strategies and enhance impact.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize efficiency and elevate the overall quality of events.
Creative Experience Design
- Conceptualize and deliver innovative, high-impact event experiences that reflect the Birthright Israel brand and mission.
- Incorporate storytelling, immersive elements, and emotional touchpoints into event programming to deepen donor connection.
- Stay ahead of trends in experiential marketing and fundraising events to bring fresh, inspiring ideas to the table.
- Identify opportunities to enhance event experiences through technology, creative formats, and donor-centric approaches.
Event Planning & Operational Excellence
- Oversee all logistical aspects of event execution, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, vendor management, speaker identification and prep, messaging, run of show, timelines, and contingency planning.
- Ensure flawless delivery of events, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and adherence to brand standards.
- Build strong relationships with external vendors, agencies, and partners to ensure high-quality event production and service delivery.
- Manage event budgets responsibly, balancing creativity with cost-effectiveness.
Team Culture
- Lead, mentor, and develop an internal events team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
- Help BRIF reach its highest potential by supporting our efforts to strengthen workplace culture, including a focus on helping to recruit top talent to join the organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in event strategy and execution.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering events that drive customer/donor engagement and sales/fundraising success.
- Strong understanding of sales and donor psychology and the role of events in cultivating philanthropic relationships.
- Exceptional creativity combined with strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Superior organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously.
- Experience managing and developing teams, as well as overseeing external vendors and partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
